Meet Our Instructors
Anil Kumar Sharma was born in the Himayalan mountains of India. He suffered from digestive and neuromuscular problems and overall weakness as a child. These health issues directed him to the path of yoga in search for healing. As he has overcome his own health issues, he has become motivated to share yoga and it’s benefits with others. He completed his Master’s degree in Physical Education in Mumbai and then spent one years in a yoga ashram in a small village near Mumbai to get his yoga teaching certification. He also holds a 500-hour yoga alliance certified teaching certificate. He specialized in Hatha Yoga with a strong focus on alignment whilst using props. His philosophy is to take time for learning, and to teach with great awareness of the body and soul. Even though Anil is an advanced practitioner, he is an expert at teaching all levels of yoga practitioners. He gives his students the building blocks to use in their daily practice to grow and improve their practice.
Jennifer An is a certified natural health educator and 200-hour certified yoga instructor. She began her natural health journey as a child being raised by two vegetarian chiropractors; she grew up with the understanding that the body has an innate wisdom and knows how to heal itself. As a young adult she found herself crippled by anxiety and depression and struggled with suicidal thoughts and body dysmorphia. She began punishing her body with unhealthy food and exercise and used drugs and alcohol as a way to escape the dark emotions she didn’t know how to deal with at the time. This deep-seated pain within her forced her to look for answers in healing modalities such as energy healing, yoga and meditation. In 2015 she traveled to India and completed her first 200-hour yoga teacher training and 10-day vipassana meditation course, there she learned about the wisdom and culture of yoga and meditation and how to use it for healing the mind and body. Jennifer lived in India for three years and found her healing in the culture of yoga in India and is now dedicated to holding space for others look within themselves and find the answers they seek.
